Dr. Simon Gamer earned his D.D.S. degree at Northwestern University, where he also taught as a full-time instructor in operative dentistry and oral diagnosis. After moving back home to Los Angeles, he opened his practice and taught full time at USC, in the Department of Oral Diagnosis, and completed a board-eligible residency in prosthodontics. After residency, Dr. Gamer taught pre-doctoral prosthodontics, and since 1985 has been a co-course director in the combined prosthodontics/periodontics diagnosis and treatment planning seminar in the graduate division of USC’s Ostrow School of Dentistry.
In addition to serving multiple generations of patients at his long-standing practice in Beverly Hills, Dr. Gamer has published extensively in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and other peer-reviewed medical and dental journals, lectured locally and internationally, and continues to provide dental care to underserved communities around the globe through missions with Operation Smile. Dr. Gamer’s current affiliations include: Attending Prosthodontist at Children's Hospital Los Angeles; Clinical Professor for the Division of Primary Oral Health Care at USC’s Ostrow School of Dentistry; and Member Dentist, Department of Surgery and Division of Dentistry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, as well as a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California’s Division of Workers' Compensation.
Dr. Gamer is the past president of the Hollywood Dental Society and the Beverly Hills Academy of Dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, practicing the clarinet, fishing, bicycling, hiking, swimming, and playing chess with his two grandsons.
